Let this beautiful land and 5 bedroom home embrace you in its Aloha and comfortable hospitality. It is a perfect getaway for those who want to experience Hawaii more intimately, without feeling like a “tourist.” Fall asleep to a symphony of crickets and chirping frogs and wake up to the sound of birds in our luscious gardens. This quiet location offers small towns, delicious dining and quaint shops. We’re just 15 minutes south of Kailua.
At 1200 feet elevation, we enjoy the cool breezes in the evening, tropical sun during the day and just a few minutes drive to Kealakekua Bay (Marine Refuge). The Kaawaloa Trail head to Kealakekua Bay is ¼ mile away from the bed and breakfast and a 1.5 mile hike to the ocean. This trail is the only way to the protected reef unless you obtain a kayak permit or take an excursion like the Fairwinds catamaran. Wild dolphins and snorkeling await you in these South Kona bays. Nestled in the coffee belt, many sacred sites such as the City of Refuge and Peace Garden invite your exploration. Dive into the clearest waters on the islands – at night with the giant Mantas and by day along the coastline. We’re happy to help plan your trip and share our beach gear, towels, boogie boards, etc. We also rent mermaid tails.
Wifi is available at no extra cost, but we encourage you to take a break from TV and electronics during your stay. Silent retreats are also encouraged.
Previously known as the Areca Palms Estate Bed & Breakfast for its abundance of palm trees, it has been hosting guests for over 25 years and was listed in Frommers “Top 50 in Hawaii State.”
The B&B is located in the Kona coffee belt surrounded by quiet lush tropical foliage, wildlife and small towns waiting to be explored. We’re just 15 minutes from the beaches and a pristine marine wildlife refuge.
You’ll definitely want to rent a car in advance as they are in high demand.
The island offers limitless attractions for visitors of all interests. Sunbathe at white sand beaches, ride mountain bikes to the lava flow at the Volcano, snorkel with sea turtles, tour the coffee farms, dive the clear blue ocean, swim with Manta Rays, tour the Seahorse Farm, rent jet skis, or enjoy the local farmer’s markets and artisan shops.
